The science bit

What is Carboxytherapy?

Carboxytherapy is used to treat cellulite, dark under-eye circles, and stretch marks. The technique uses injections of Carbon Dioxide gas under the skin. The treatment tends to kill off fat tissue fat cells, stimulating your blood flow, improving your skin’s elasticity, and reducing the appearance of cellulite, dark eye circles and stretch marks.

What Conditions is Carboxytherapy Suitable For?

The primary function of this treatment is to improve the circulation. This means it helps with all of the conditions we have mentioned, often used in combination with other non-surgical treatments to optimise the results.

Who Is Carboxytherapy Suitable For?

Mainly women request this treatment, but it is also good for men who suffer from dark eye circles or fine lines.

What Does Carboxytherapy Treatment Involve?

A number of treatments are involved. We spread them, usually two weeks apart, to gradually target the areas of concern.

Frequently Asked Questions

Initially, you’ll find the treated area is swollen. You might develop a bruise near the area. The swelling will go down within a few minutes, but the bruise can last up to a week. Carbon Dioxide is a very safe product, also used in the medical profession in many other treatments and conditions.

You can return to your normal activities the following day.
How Long Do the Effects of Carboxytherapy Last?
You will need anything from 3-9 treatments, depending on what we are treating. Dark circles under the eyes normally take up to 6 treatments, cellulite takes up to 10 treatments and fine lines up to 4 treatments. It varies, and we will advise you about how many treatments you need as your treatment progresses.
What Are the Alternatives?
For cellulite, Mesotherapy and Radio Frequency are good alternatives. For stretch marks we might recommend a combination of Carboxytherapy and Dermapen. We often find that the Tear Trough Technique for dark circles is actually more suitable than Carboxytherapy.
