Platelet-Rich Fibrin or PRF therapy is a technique that uses your own growth factors, re-targeting them to a specific area of concern to encourage the skin and hair to repair and regenerate.
In the case of hair loss, PRF will re-stimulate the hair follicles to grow new hair. The treatment will only work on existing hair as long as there’s a visible follicle, and the PRF can thicken other hair around it to improve your overall appearance.
PRF is excellent for both men and women who are starting to notice their hair thinning.
This treatment uses your own natural platelets, so there’s no risk of rejection. We spin your blood inside a closed sterile system, so there is no risk of contamination. This system is used in major teaching hospitals to treat burns and help wounds repair, so it is very safe.
There are few side effects. Straight after your treatment, you can get mild bruising and swelling around the injection site. You can also get some tenderness, but this should disappear within a few days.
You will see results after the second treatment.
Monthly treatments are needed for at least six months. We would always suggest you discuss using other treatments in conjunction with the PRF, such as minoxidil, a topical spray and/or finasteride.
