The science bit

What is Permalip?

Permalip lip implants are revolutionary implants for lip enhancement. Made from very soft but solid silicone, which is tapered at each end to match the natural shape of the lip, it won’t rupture or deflate but, interestingly, you can have it removed at any time.

How Does Permalip Work?

The silicone implants are inserted via two small incisions, one on the upper and one on the lower lip. We then thread the implant through a tunnel in the lip and centre it, then we close the entry sites are closed with a small stitch. It’s all very neat.

Is Permalip Temporary or Permanent?

Permalip is designed to be a permanent lip enhancement but can be easily reversed thanks to the very smooth surface of the implant.

How Long Does Permalip Treatment Take?

Treatment takes around an hour and you’ll be given a local anaesthetic.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are There Any Side Effects?
Because the lips are very delicate and sensitive, you will get some bruising plus significant swelling that could last for 3-4 days. You might feel some temporary numbness. The bruising can last for up to a week. You should be able to see the final results by the end of the week, once everything has settled down.
Are There Any Alternatives?
It’s a really good idea to try Dermal Lip Filler first to check that you like the new shape of your lips.
How Will I Feel?
Luscious, beautifully shaped lips enhance your appearance, making you feel wonderful. If you feel your lips are too thin, the increased volume we can achieve gives you the kind of pout you’ve always wanted. Bear in mind a natural-looking fuller lip looks best, while over-filled lips tend to look very unnatural.
