Lip enhancement and lip line treatments

You no longer need to be worried about having a ‘trout pout' or an unnatural shaped lip! At A New You we enhance the lip line or lip lines very subtly, often in 2 stages, to create natural but enhanced sensual lips.

Now there's a permanent option called PermaLip, perfect for when you've had either a Restylane or Juvederm temporary filler and are happy with the shape. It's a minor procedure performed under local anaesthetic to give a permanent enhancement.

Top brands include Juvederm, Teosyal and Restylane Lipp, all of which are specially developed to create natural volume and youthful looking, luscious lips!

Who is it suitable for?

It's generally a woman's procedure, undertaken in the following circumstances:

• More mature ladies may have a natural thinning of the lips which occurs with age
• Smokers may have developed lines around the lips
• Younger women may want a more sensual, cupids bow lip outline

What can I expect?

These new temporary fillers have been developed to include a numbing agent that makes it much more comfortable. The filler is injected in minute quantities along the lip line/border to create the desired shape. The procedure takes around 30 minutes. At every stage we show how much product has been introduced into the area so that the client has control over the desired shape.

Possible Risks and Side-effects

Swelling and bruising

As the mouth is a very delicate area with lots of nerve endings, there is always some swelling which can be helped by applying Arnica cream or tablets and ice packs following the treatment. In rare circumstances, you may have a slight bruise but this will fade within a couple of days.

Recovery

It's advisable not to plan treatment if you are going to a special function straight afterwards due to the swelling that will occur. This should subside within a few days.  It can be easily disguised with some mineral make-up.  Your new lips will have settled down within 4 days.

Success Rate

It's important not to inject too much product in one visit because it's difficult to get an accurate idea of the final result due to the swelling that occurs from having the treatment. Today's look is about natural enhancement and not the 'duck' look or 'trout pout'. Sometimes we recommend 2 separate visits to allow for the swelling to settle between treatments, so you can decide with your practitioner how much more product is needed.
