What is Dermaroller™ therapy?

Dermaroller™ provides a successful and natural skin regeneration and scar repair therapy.  Dermaroller™ involves advanced skin micro-needling - a process that stimulates the skin to regenerate and repair itself naturally and safely to create smoother, brighter, healthier, younger looking skin.  

Who is it suitable for?

Dermaroller™ is suitable for anyone from the age of 18 upwards who suffers from any of the following:

• Acne scars
• Aged and sun damaged skin
• Facial and décolletage lines and wrinkles
• Stretch marks

What can I expect?

We apply a topical anaesthetic cream to numb the skin around 30-45 minutes before the procedure to make the whole experience more comfortable.  A small roller is then run across the area to be treated, penetrating the dermis and stimulating your collagen to regenerate naturally.  It can take up to 6 weeks before visible signs of repair and regeneration are seen, which is why we spread treatments 4-6 weeks apart.  Acne scars and other types of scarring may take up to 6 treatments.

Possible Risks and Side-effects

Infection

As the treatment involves small pinpricks into the skin, it's important to keep the skin free from a dusty or dirty environment to avoid infection.

Recovery

Immediately after your Dermaroller™ therapy you will look as though you have moderate sunburn.  Your skin may feel warm and tighter than usual. This will start to subside after 1-2 hours and will normally disappear the next day, leaving only a slight redness.  It's imperative that you wear a good SPF cream.  You will be able to return to work on the same day as having your treatment, and a small amount of mineral make-up can be applied if you are conscious of any redness.

Dermaroller™ has been used successfully to improve acne scars, fine lines and wrinkles on the chest and face, plus stretch marks.  With the number of recommended treatments, depending on your particular skin problem, Dermaroller™has excellent results.
